Bruce [Weber] told me to drop out of college and move to LA to pursue acting. He really believed I could do it. He said you have to risk everything to get the biscuit. Don’t be afraid to fall. I took his advice.
It’s a risky career move for an actor to attempt James Dean, but James Preston takes the leap in Joshua Tree 1951: A Portrait of James Dean. The film, directed by Matthew Mishory, is in the final stages of post-production. It’s the first Dean biopic to address the actor’s sexuality.
Visual Tales Magazine delivers The Other Side of James, styled by David Vandewal and photographed by Alexei Hay with an extensive interview with Preston by John Tan. See it here.
